Copyright and Content Licensing

Learn how to share, use, and modify bead patterns on our platform. We use Creative Commons (CC) licenses to make sharing simple and clear.

Pattern Origin Declaration

When sharing patterns on Pindou Art, you must declare the origin type: Original: Designs created entirely by yourself independently. Derivative: Designs modified from existing works or inspired by other creators. Repost: Sharing others' works (ensure you have the original author's permission).

Core Licensing Elements

Based on your sharing settings, the system automatically generates a CC license for your pattern. These licenses are combinations of the core elements above.

Attribution (BY)

This is the baseline requirement for all CC licenses. Users must credit the original author (ideally with a link to the pattern page) and indicate if changes were made. Credit must be reasonable and not suggest the author endorses the user.

Non-Commercial (NC)

Users may not use the work for commercial purposes. Commercial use generally involves using the work for monetary compensation or commercial advantage, directly or indirectly.

Share-Alike (SA)

If the user modifies, transforms, or builds upon the original work, the resulting work must be distributed under the same CC license as the original. This ensures the spirit of sharing continues.

No-Derivatives (ND)

Users may freely distribute the original work, but if the work is modified, cropped, or transformed, the modified version may not be distributed. The work must be presented in its original form.

Commercial Usage

As an author, you decide if others can use your work for commercial projects. If you choose 'Contact Author for Commercial Use', other users must contact you directly through your provided contact info to negotiate authorization. The platform does not intervene in this process.

Derivative Rights

You control whether others can modify your patterns. Allowing derivatives means others can import your pattern into the editor for further modification. However, when sharing derivative works, they must strictly follow your license requirements (e.g., Attribution, Non-Commercial).

Copyright Protection & DMCA

We respect the creative efforts of every creator. If you find any content on our platform that infringes upon your legal rights, please contact us via email with proof of ownership, and we will take down the content immediately.
